Hello
Have been looking for a nice PP amp to use my stock of
6P3S-E's on. Would drive my biamped 15" dipole woofers.
What is expected damping factor?
Thanks

Hi
My admiration!
The PSU in de firts stages, it is necessary to stabilize voltages? will publish the PSU?
That configuration I like for my project 8* 6P1P-EB by ch,
is very similar to 6V6/EL90/6AQ5 "charmingly ugly"
THANKS
@anonymous : Giannis
@anonymous : Giannis Spathopoulos who is the builder and owner of this amp says that the Damping Factor in this project is about 14.

@Fernan : Of course it is
@Fernan : Of course it is better to use DC but it is not necessary.
We will publish the PSU schematic sometime in the near future

hello.
well i am from india.all the good work you have been doing seems like a dream for diyers like me in india.
your work is fantastic.
i have decided in making a horn loaded speaker for me just waiting for the proper time and financial adjustment for purchasing fostex 206e. customs and other taxes double the cost here making it next to impossible acquiring such stuff.
finally please guide me as which tube amp would be suitable for driving theses horn loaded drivers.i am not technically sound so would like help from you. what output should i be looking at 206e is rated at 90 watts RMS. so should i go for 6L6GC Push Pull twelve tubes amp, or 833se from tube lab. i am confused also i don't understand the many ac outputs from transformers. i have assembled a lm3886 based 300 watts rms amp it runs good, but it seems far more easier than assembling a tube amp.
another thing i have heard that tube amps don't have solid bottom end. please guide.
Hi Vikram , and thanks for
Hi Vikram ,
and thanks for your comments. I think you took the right decision about constructing the fostex back loaded horns. It is really a great speaker. If you combine it with a high frequency compression driver the result will compensate you.
Regarding the amplifier I think that this kind of speaker matches better with single ended designs. So in my opinion the tube lab 833SE its the optimal choice. You can also take a look at his 845 SE design.

Very pretty circuit. It
Very pretty circuit.
It appears that the purpose of the network(s) formed by pot R39, C12, R10, R6, and R4 (typ, x6) is to bleed off some signal at each tube so as to balance the ac outputs of each. Does the designer have a proceedure for setting these pots?
Also, does the fact that this same network is repeated six times eliminate the need for matched tubes?
Keep up the good work!

Dear Costas,
Dear Costas,
If someone were to build the amp as published he would blow the powertubes very quickly so I think a warning should be appropriate here! The negative bias supply has been left out. All the wipers of the pots to the grids of the power tubes have to be connected to the negative supply of approx. - 60 volts!
Maybe the published schematic can be changed accordingly.
Succes!
